Title: An expensive mistake ?
Post by: Mattdub on May 10, 2010, 10:43 PM
Rim shape looks unusual for Alloy Pro Class rims ( not the normal 7X shape ) , could they be steel PC rims ? . If so someone might be making an expensive mistake winning these me thinks ..............

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270575156419&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Either that or they're so heavily powdered the rim has taken a different kinda shape :-\

They definitely aren't alloy because they used to be mine and I know for a fact that they are steel pro class rims, they were sold as that also.

Look like the same ones on the ammaco mongoose just posted up in the tech and resto section  ;)

If they are misdescribed, is it not possible to report the listing to ebay and get it pulled?  More shady tactics from the leg-end that is Jason. :uglystupid2:

If he does'nt know whether they're alloy or steel there's no chance he'll know what a magnet is !  :LolLolLolLol:

I'm not sure if it's just because they used to be my wheels I feel I need to write this but........  :LolLolLolLol:

I'm not sure if he's doing anything wrong is he? They are original mongoose pro class wheels so he isn't breaking ebay rules as they are described correctly, Is it not the same as picking a bargain up because you know what it is and the seller doesn't?

If the question was asked if they are steel or alloy then as long as he gives the person the right answer then it can't be a problem can it?

Or am I missing something?

Daletsunami, I agree with you, he hasn't listed them as something their not.
BUT
He hasn't posted any lies but he isn't telling the full story either is he! (by claiming he doesn't know if their steel or alloy, again he neatly avoids the  FACTS, surely he should know as he bought them as a pair of steel proclass wheels)  If he was genuine surely he would post the question in the listing? or ask how he can find out, at least a genuine person would add to the listing that they didn't know if they were alloy OR THE FAR LESS VALUABLE steel rims wouldn't they?

Sometimes its all about what you dont say as much as what you do. See, if you asked me, do i think he's an out and out con artist, deliberately leaving out info to suit his own interests? avoiding answering questions - to suit his own interests? keeping the identity of the bidder hidden - to suit his own interests? shill bidding on hs own auctions - to suit his own interests? i might reply NO COMMENT >:D

Sadly their will always be people willing to stoop to this level and sadder still, their will always be people caught out by them!  I just hope Earl has got it right and karma catches up with em in the end :daumenhoch:

Well actually the steel ones weren't called "pro-class" wheels they where called "Pro-steel" wheels so they are listed incorrectly in my book.

Peace   :-*

...leave it Bob... the 'posse' are already 'saddled up'...  :LolLolLolLol:

I've never had a problem with anything I have brought from Jason but I do agree that you should be up front, even if you might not get as much. Its down to your conscience isn't it, and whether you want your soul to look like a raisin of not  :buck2
