Picked this up from the bay a couple of months back but unsure of the year. I've tried to identify it from BMX Museum pics but cannot pinpoint it. It seems to be 2000-2003? The serial is D 81835.

lol! It looks same era as my STA to me, but I dont really have the knowledge lol.
It needs a lick of paint and some stickers thou, thinking of painting mine soon.

It's baffled me this frame. I'm homing in on late 98. I'm sitting looking at my 98 frame bought about April time. And it has a straight headtube. My 99 frame I picked up whilst in davenport at standard hq has the flared headtube so it's somewhere in between. As dan suggest it being 98 from the serial I'd narrow it to late 98. I thought the flared headtube came in early 99 though but hey ho!

I contacted a guy at Standard to identify your frame and he said it maybe April 98 but said it was a strange number and asked for some photos of it.

the D denotes april looks like a normal number stamp to me. not all frames had a letter.

The paint finish is like a satin black, would that have been original or has it been repainted at some point. What would the decals have looked like originally?

the stickers for that era are rare aas fook! took me several years to track a set, two standard downtube stickers, three coloured cobra headtube sticker like my avatar, two trls250 stickers for the stays, and an all in on three colour toptube sticker with trls 250 printed, the s logo with speed, power, technique written on it

belongs to an old mate, but we kind of fell out when he cheated on his wife for 15 months of their 18 month marriage! only spoke a few times since but i want it off him still, every part is a gem!
