Ok so i have ordered a GHP 24" Cruiser Frame/Fork and Bars from Greg, with the intention to actually build and ride instead of show ponies, i'm going to build this in Red/Black and Chrome and i'm going down the repop everything road on this one, so just got home and some new bits have turned up:
Reproduction Roger Decoster Bullseye Limited Issue Pedals in Red/Black
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/uu137/martylaa/SSL21506.jpg)
Reproduction Hutch Deep H Stem or a Hutch Inverted Cruiser Stem, not sure which one i'll use so ordered both before JDB wised up and re-adjusted his prices :LolLolLolLol:

Retro Profile Box Cranks in Chrome

Skyway 24" Graphite Tuffs Repops coming as we speak, i have a Kashimax Aero Repop Seat in the Garage and some other nice bits to put on it to like some Black Oakley O Wings etc etc etc
I'll post some more pics up as and when the parts arrive and the bike turns up right through to the final build.
Will prob piss a few people off with a Repop build but at least i'll not be too scared to ride this one. :daumenhoch:

What's the thinking behind the statement ???
Are they a poor quality repro or you just dislike Hutch products in general (or neither)?
Was thinking about getting one :-\
-
don't think he has any left steve they sold out very quickly, he said he's not making any more going to concentrate on his new modern hutch stuff now
-
if its anything like the pedals
-
Love the pedals - where did you find them and how much if you don't mind me asking?

Is it an 80's GHP cruiser you're building Marty?
-
Have you got a date for the frame and forks and what bars are you useing?
-
Its a GHP 24" reproduction cruiser bike JJ, Greg is remaking some 20", 24" and 26" bikes only making a few i've ordered a 24", i going to build it up with retro/reproduction parts such as the ones shown and that way i'll be able to use as a rider without worrying about the value of it, steve the frame forks and bars should be here in september, the bars will be GHP cruiser bars, bars frame and forks are $525 all in, not a bad price, frame forks etc are identical to his 80's models, getting mine in red, doing red, chrome and blacl build
-
I didnt know they were doing repop cruisers ???

Reproduction Roger Decoster Bullseye Limited Issue Pedals in Red/Black
Roger Durham the founder and designer / Bullseye. Too much Rogering is not a bad thing :)

not to sure what retro brake or headset i could put on it, got some black oakley o wings and some black ame tri's in the garage which i could use on it as well, but struggling to think of a headset and brakes, maybe a beartrap headset but brakes.....
any suggestions?
-
I would say the well known. 1000 or 900. But you might want something special, not sure whats out there though. Them big wheels look 8) btw.
-
yeah i know steve but i was trying to use repop parts only on this not sure if there has been any repop brake or headset bits out there, if not i'll just stick a beartrap headset and prob a mx1000 tech3 combo
yep just sat not with itchy fingers waiting for the bike to arrive
hope i can snag this floval to keep me busy over the summer.....

I wondered how a Roger Decoster link came about :LolLolLolLol:
-
thinking brakes i'm gonna have to go down route of maybe putting original 900 rear caliper with tech 3 lever, beartrap 2 headset and a dc seat clamp, evrything else will be new repop stuff
think i'm in love with those pedals mind :smitten:
-
man I can just imagine this! Bow Wow!
It's going to be amazing.
-
What about maybe a Chris King Headset Marty ?
-
What about maybe a Chris King Headset Marty ?
do they do 1" threaded headset like?
-
80 quid for a chris king headset or shall i use me beartrap headset, yep its the cheaper option, thinking rear brake dc mx 901 setup in black, both cheap enough
