What's the best way to prepare brake levers for re-anodising?
Should I sand down the scratches with 1500 grit wet & dry?
-
thanks Glen, is this the case generally?

I got some suntour beartrap cages redone. I prepped one of them and they did the other.
I wish I had got them to do both :-[

I need a pair of levers and calipers done - I see in this pic that the levers seem to have been done with the pivot pin still in - I'm presuming that that's not a problem then:

As for the calipers - the little steel bit at the top of the arm has been removed - how the heck do you get that sucker out?
-
That is usually nut/bolted in isn't it ? Do you not just undo it?
-
the ones on the DC calipers seem to be pressed in

Use a gentle persuader and tap it out with a hammer. I cant see pics so just guessing you are referring to the cable lock bolt. :daumenhoch:

I think it is riveted on . Take a drill to it and take your time, increase the drill size and you will get there. Start with a small drill and work up in size, There is an oval hole so it might be worth buying one form the local bike shop so that you know what tou are trying to achieve. the replacement will be bolt on.
Method two is to file the back off the rivet :daumenhoch:
Hope this helps

Thanks that sounds like a good approach. I'll try that on one and hopefully get it right first time lol

If you are not happy with doing it send it to me I will do it for you. I have had over 20 years experience and will take me no time at all. Lmk :daumenhoch:
