Title: AMMACO 202 1981-1982
Post by: holwuff on June 17, 2010, 12:40 PM
Just bought this old heap for £10 off a guy selling it in a local buy, sell, wanted group on faceache!
he has listed it as rusty old blue bmx £10 so i mailed him asking what make it was and he replied an  1981-1982 AMMACO 202, so would be rude not to i thought!
does anyone know much about this model? not much about them at the museum! was it a low end bike or what? anyone got any original pics etc?

wheels run ok and everything seems to move as it should, thinking maybe white f+f, keeping all the blue bits and get some era correct grips!

cheap little project to keep me away from the beer garden for a week or so! lol

£50 - 75 as it stands perhaps?  Sounds like you got a deal.  :daumenhoch:

My brother in law had a chrome one of these in his shed for years.  He kept telling me to take it, but I couldnt be arsed digging it out.  I recently found out his dada (my father in law) has now taken it to the tip... lol

 Some catalogue scans / specs............

Judging from the pics looks like yours is more likely a late 83 or 84.

The pic from the 83 catalogue (first pic) doesn't have a looptail whereas the 2 pics from the 84 catalogue have the same looptail as yours ;)

It also looks like other than grips, seat and tyres, yours is all original :)
