Well the last few years I have been taking Ollie to Bristol BMX Club in Patchway, Bristol. This year I decided that standing watching, drinking coffee, had to change, so I thought I would have a go !
My aspirational target was not to come last in every race, I started in F1 and found things pretty tough and it wasn't long until I dropped down to F2.
About a month in and being beaten by 14 year olds, I was ready to pack it in and give up, I felt truly embarrassed and wondered what the hell was I doing.
I decided to have one more go, and whilst in the pens with the kids :-[, one of the little buggers said ' It's great to see you having a go' ! The following race, I didn't come last, I came fourth :daumenhoch: So reached my target.
Now most weeks, I do come in last, however I'm getting a bit faster and more confident :daumenhoch:
I was away this week so Ollie picked up our trophies presented by Marcus Bloomfield, Ollie came 2nd in his age group and I came 3rd :4_17_5:
