Title: first Dirtbike purchase
Post by: 20to26 on June 20, 2010, 07:30 PM
browsing eBay this evening before the game I came across what turned out to be my first S&M purchase:

Looks to be the 1" version with AD mounts and Primo parts (saddle, grips, cranks, Moes bars?) - dunno much about these bikes except they're made in USA.

Looks a bit of a bargain - whatyathink?

Depends on what you payed  :P  but eye thats a nice dirtbike(if it is a dirt bike) with real nice parts on it.

Primo cranks, some say beter that profiles - watch the insert though ;) ver1s often used to come loose, so you couldnt take the pedals off.

Might be standard strip bars those, not sure on that.

TNT seat clamp & dk steam maybes by looks of them.

Check for little cracks on the small gussets - seen a few s&ms go at the front.

Looks long that - sure it is'nt a holmes - think it will say hXL or something like that on the dropouts if it is a holmes, maybe its just my eyes being crap.

Proper gorgeous Matey.

Had my eye on it too, would have bought it if my missus hadn't just flipped one about keeping my bikes in the house. Haha

Dirtbikes do look long but when you put it next to a Holmes then you'll know it's not that long.

Been out on my Holmes today, tried to manual and about pulled my arms out of the sockets. My Holmes rear triangle is 15.7" my wtp unified cruiser is only 14.7"!

Ride it matey you'll never be disapointed with a Mid School S&M.

Keep the faith Brothers. L

I guess I have JT to blame for this Lenny after letting me ride his in the Nike Tunnel on the last Old Fools trip. It was totally spur of the moment... even if it's a 5 hour round trip to collect it  :uglystupid2:

I'll get the serial number to be sure, I'm trawling posts now to find out what I can.

Thanks for the info on what to look out for Scott250.

Nice one :daumenhoch:.  I was looking at it as well - just looking mind, too skint to do otherwise :(

I pm'd him to see what wheels it had, but never got a reply.  I'd be interested to find out once you've picked it up.

Ben

Are you taking it to Berm-ingham Matey?

I went to Radchester and it was fckin brilliant.

40 or so Old schoolers and Mid schoolers meeting up chatting boozing and riding round Manchester.

Only me and Diggler reppin' the S&M Sheild on our Holmes's.

see the pics in members gatherings section.

...well not long now chaps and she'll be in my clutches thanks to JT71 doing the collection for me. Thanks dude!

I'm hoping that it's all pukka mid school stuff on there - including the cranks which look like first gen Primo & the frame seems like a '93 from what I can gather on BMXmuseum - only time will tell now.
 :)

somethings not quite right though Steve....don't you think the grips have clearly done more miles than the frame?  lol
