I scored this S&M Holmes frame with Murray seat stays cheap off ebay (The seller thought it was a Mongoose) ;D
It's in pretty nice condition apart from someone grinding off the serial number :(
I've also got a set of Pitchforks and Slam Bars coming for it too. I already have the S&M pad set and a S&M seat...Just need to buy a Redneck stem.

I got it nice and cheap, The shipping cost more than the price of the frame itself ;D
Because the dropouts need a little attention and the serial number has been ground off I reckon I'll get it sandblasted, Repair the frame then powdercoat it....I was thinking of yellow with chrome Pitchforks :)

I haven't decided 100% on a colour yet but my girlfriend said yellow would look nice for it and yellow was used by S&M so who knows. Anyone suggest a colour that might suit the frame?
I need to get a Holmes decal set for the frame too.

They came in Yellow or chrome, maybe red as well but they didnt do the mk2 for long.
The first Mk2s came with the "Tape measure" decal set. Then they changed to the "Mollerterno" sticker set, which was also used on the Mk3s for a while.

what about white, I just sold my white one over the pond, definately looked original colour, could even see where prevoius owner used a knife to peel away the old decals

The 92 Holmes also came in mint green with brown/black Moliterno decals.

I've tracked down a Redneck stem so this build is coming together real fast....Only thing I need now is a Holmes sticker set. Gonna get the frame sandblasted next week then I'll do the repairs to it myself then will get it powdercoated, Then the build will commence. Only thing I'm not sure on is what rims to use, I have polished DK 36 hole sealed bearing race hubs but unsure what rims....Might use polished 7X's perhaps.
Going to use my 180mm Powerlite stamped Profile cranks and a polished 45T GT Power Series sprocket so that will look nice on it.
I may have sorted out a deal on a S&M Piece 'O Pipe seat post....Did they have any distinguishing stamps on them to set them apart from other seat posts?

see the captain for a set of tape measure decals, as for the piece o pipe i think they just had a sticker on them

They are nice chain rings. I love Auburns especially in green...

Still need to change the seat and will change the wheels once I build them and put some Comp III's on 'em. Will also swap the cable to a black one.

I've got a 1992 Holmes sticker set and Pitchfork stickers coming tomorrow so I'll take some new pics once the sticker set is on it. But for now, Here is a pic of the Holmes with the Comp III's on it :)

I know what you mean about the seat and grips. I'm looking for a 90's S&M sheild seat. Unsure what grips to use at the moment...Definately gonna get rid of those crap grips that are currently on it. Might throw on a set of black Ame grips.

Cheers for the comments fella's.
Still need to change the seat, grips, brake cable and will build my wheel set for the Holmes once the rims arrive...May also change the tyres too. Will update the pics once it's done.
If anyone has a nice mid school seat (Something like a mid school S&M Shield seat for sale and they don't mind shipping it to Australia then I'd be interested in buying it.

I agree completely.
Paul, the decals look awesome. Sorry they took a week in the mail to travel 500kms. I sent some to Virginia, USA on the same day & they arrived before yours did.

i just picked up a s&m holmes all chrome 1990 all complete in great condition from a boot sale cost me £50
but i do need some new graphics the red holmes is comming off can you help cheers :angel: :crazy2:
