Has anyone tryed the wet way with fairy or owt like that
does it affect the adheasion once dry
any help appreciated :daumenhoch:
-
i havent done it wet ... i did it dry with a WARM hairdryer ... just incase it goes wrong .... lol ;)
-
yes.....small drop of fairy liquid in a spray bottle full of water.....list misting direct onto the frame and a mist of the rear of the decal......lay decal on and squeegy out the excess water.....works a treat, and the light misting allows the decal to be moved about slightly.....used this method on the gen1 and my retro mirra/freestyler.....and the decals on these wrap the whole of the down tube.

thats right, a touch of washing up liquid or baby oil with water, appy your decal, use something like a credit card to get rid of the excess water under the sticker & hey presto...good as new... i used to do this on cars everyday when i worked in my dads garage
-
Thanks alot guys ill give it a try now i know its safe :daumenhoch:
-
I use the same method as Dave, but I wouldn't use baby oil, cos it won't dry out :daumenhoch:

Wise words mate - I concur 8)

I was really sceptical about wetting the stickers and frame but I have to say it works a treat.
-
Yes same here mate but it turned out a lot less stressfull than the conventional way
it used to take me hours measuring up before, this way you can slap it on and slide it around without breaking into a sweat
its the only way to go.... :daumenhoch:

Okay, so now applying decals is well and truly sorted, I got one more question - What is the best way to remove the old ones?
Got some blue ones for the ripper and want to lose the gold :daumenhoch:
PS Mr Rad - The Hutch looks the gonads Squire ;)
-
hair dryer over the decals to release em fella...it softens the adhesive
