Got an idea for a build for this and a re-chrome would obviously really top it off but I like the idea that the frame has a bit of history and even though the chrome isn't great anymore it's orginal.
The forks are in much better condition than the frame as you can see by the pics
The question is leave as is or send off for some bling?

that frame looks really really nice, too nice to rechrome and thats coming from me,the man with the blingiest rechromed bikes out there!!if the bikes built with really nice condition parts too i.e a mix of nos and refurbed then the bike will still look mint :daumenhoch:
-
Hmmm.. I'm coming round to the idea of nice survivor bikes nowadays :daumenhoch:
..... but chewed dropouts still really get on my tits so I'd de-chrome, dress 'em up and rechrome ::)
-
Survivor no question :daumenhoch:
-
Survivor and you know what ::)
-
Survivor and autosol for me :4_17_5:
-
survivor no doubt at all. :daumenhoch: but whats the history behind the frame and forks? share..
-
leave it as it is.
no rechromes for me 8)
-
There is no unsightly rust, bad welding etc-survivor got to be.
-
Just hand over the forks Dale :police:
If there's no repairs , noticeable dings or bad nickel-ing , just sticker it and get it built fella ;)
Love my chrome Nora's 8)

survivor but not autosol as too harsh on frames .ie take the chrome away and shows yellow marks .

Yup definatley NOT autosol - Too abrasive as Stunmaster points out
Use Peek liquid metal polish
-
I think Dan can powder over chrome if you fancy a colour Dale and then no harm done if you want the chrome back later just strip off the powder.
-
Autosol will strip that chrome in far to few polishes
you need to clean the chrome first, and then polish
my favourite is wonder chrome, then peek
Wonder chrome really cleans without taking away the chrome and peek will remove scrathes without mullering the chrome unlike autosol
clean it and gently polish out the scratches gently, you will be amazed what a bit of elbow will do

Cheers lads, it's looking better already with a bit of work so if I can get some other chrome cleaner too and give it a bit more work i'll be happy :daumenhoch:
