Very surprised to see one of only 3 known remaining Ltd. Ed. GL Plus DPs up on E-Bay
Its looking a bit faded from its original state but you can see the original colour under the decals.
Its fully original and one of the only 2 'survivor' examples of that frame set around - Steve 'Firebird' is pretty sure only 500 were ever made :coolsmiley:
So whos tempted??? ::)

crazy! was looking for pics of one yesterrday -- your post made me curious.
And after the reading i found you're right about going for the pricey Ni-Bronze.
And now this.... I can't believe you're not counting seconds.
Of course there's something to rebuiding what you've already got. But that should be a colour being very hard to recreate in the original fashion.. Fake tan desaster.
Should be yours.
I love dps....... they're so simply irresisable :smitten:
-
Jesus! thats a result :daumenhoch:
Were they off that Prolite guy?

I have no idea what this will go for - its not got that 'blingin' wow factor but its a proper survior - mine was just too far gone - too much rust. On reflection I think 'Firebird' Steve told me that there are a couple of others around but that people have painted them a factory colour as the NiBronze was too hard to reproduce.
Steve's has a nice survivor one which is still pretty good but the finish has just faded over time from its original colour - hes still on the hunt for a away to get a good resto colour ( as am I ) but it is difficult as he said there was different shades to the original frames anyway... Mines 'too light' and not bronzey enough but its a nice colour so I've been happy enough... but now I've got some DP bars I want to get it all redone - bars, frame, seatpost & forks. I don't think Ladder Bars ever came in NiBronze but, thats what I want
I will watch this one pass me by happy that I've got mine :smitten:

531 wasn't enough  -- ££ i mean, not what you think.
"Reserve not met." I'm surprised that didn't sell.
Guess it wasn't wise to limit that to local pick up only, wonder why he did that?
-
I think Dan was looking for £600 which is a decent enough price for a rare frame like that :daumenhoch:
-
absolutely, for such a rare gem.
oh man oh man, what i would do with you, ba-bey :-* ride you like a bicy.... eh
-
Just got mine ready to ride, may have the colour sorted now. But for now.....
This frame set came all the way from Flint north Wales. I bought it off of Brian Probert, he was the foreman at Dp. Christmas 84 he asked Dave Park if he could have a frame set for his son, and this was the one he got. 92 of 500. I have the seat post and pegs that came with it. The drop outs are in amazing condition. Didn't get much use really. So after a long chat with Brian on the phone I asked if he had anything from the factory and he said, well I have my sons limited edition freestyler in the shed
As soon as I had the funds me a Quad Pete were on the motor way to go pick it up.

I'm sure there will be a few others knocking around that haven't left the shed in years.
See what you think Ed on Sunday, may leave it as it is, only the declas that put me off at the moment.

White seat post and black seat is all I'd change for now Steve... looking fwd to seeing it on Sunday.
