I was suspicious of the damage, cracks on the gusset in just the chrome.... :-\
Would've made a nice os race bike though
-
They (early S&Ms) all cracked there. It didnt seem to make much difference, not many headtubes broke off.
The mk2 Holmes cracked on the bend of looped seat stay. It wasnt a good design.
-
gutted i missed that! i always search for "s&m bmx" on ebay, since tht didnt have bmx in the title guess didnt see it!
my dirtbike from 91/2 has a hairline there too, nothing to worry about
-
nice find, cheap too!!!! my mk1 and mk3 holmes cracked on the gusset, most s&m's did and it made no difference
-
my mk1 dirtbike doesnt have a headtube gusset ...... and the headtube/downtube weld cracked :crazy2: :LolLolLolLol:
-
never saw that one,how long was the listing?
-
alex maybe thats why they started to weld gussets on so they cracked instead of the headtube/ downtube weld :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
-
I wish I bid more now but the crack did put me off :-[

I struggled to sell my original paint white one for months and was asking £100, eventually sold to some guy in the states for 130, hence why I didnt bid more for the chrome ebay one
