Title: going over crome

if i had a rusty old crome frame and i wanted it in colour should i get it sand blasted then sprayed or powderd or am i being a dumb arse ??

Personally I would have it Blasted then powdered  :daumenhoch:

get the chrome stripped for the best finish ,,,if you blast it ,theres chance that the chrome will become pitted ,, then its going to need a lot of powder to
cover the pitting  :daumenhoch:

if you get it blasted they should be no chrome left on it..... :)

not always true sam, the amount of frames that i recieve that have been blasted prior

to powder and the chromes still on but just feathered smooth, blasting wont remove the chrome

unless it done with heavy grit then you have the problem of the metal looking like rough

sand paper, best bet is always have the chrome removed by chrome platers :daumenhoch:
