Ok guys and girls , heres where we stand, unfortuneately one or two setbacks have occurred and the September 12 race will not go ahead as planned . Sorry about this but we had no choice. We will be ready to go not long after this date and it could be possible that we have 3 rounds in as many weeks in October before the clocks alter, this is not official yet , but do keep an eye out.
Once again really sorry about all this but Steve is doing the best he can , and Devon is a long way from Canterbury.
Thanks for all your enquiries and support, but we will get there

I'm definitely up for 3 weekends in a row Tone. I'm on hols the first weekend of Oct though, fingers crossed it won't start that weekend!
Can't wait to race it, i know it's sad but I've already had 2 dreams about racing on the new track!
-
We are in as well mate, 3 weekends in a row :smiley6600: cant wait, sounds like a dream :daumenhoch:
-
It wont be the 3rd october, as that is the South champs at Daggers. We already have 10th October put down as a fixture, so it looks like it could start there
-
Wicked!
-
sounds good to me :daumenhoch:
-
hinge bar for the new start gate went in today first and last straights should be shaped tomorrow. been put back a bit because of poor material delivered when we were off site and the crap weather. all going good now and should be finished in two weeks.

Sweet :coolsmiley:

That looks like Exeter's last straight!! But then it could as Steve did theirs too. Looking good and can't wait for re-opening. Bring it on!! Humps
-
I might even have a go, if it's not too boring :)
-
Where has it gone outside of the old tracks boundry? i'll have a look next time i'm passing

Bob, they've gone down into the field behind the old track after bringing up its level. They've changed the orientation to go from top to bottom of the site instead of across it. I'm sure it won't be boring if Jenks's building it. Humps

the last straight is now where the 2nd berm/finish and start were, the start is where the first berm was, it is twice the size in length and width and been rotated 90 degress in orientation :daumenhoch:

I cant wait :daumenhoch: :4_17_5:
I might have to drag myself out of retirement to have a ride round the new track. It looks really good :daumenhoch:
-
looking good, can't wait to ride it
-
tbh i think theclast straight is to technical for a club track, but as not finished yet we will have to wait and see ::)

It looks a bit tech but is very similar to Exeter's last straight which rides sweet as. Don't worry Andy I think it'll be just fine. Was talking to Steve Jenk's in the bar at Cheddar last night and he reckons he's bringing his team riders up to the opening so we'll have some top notch South West riders on hand at the opener to put on a show with the other 'local' riders that turn up. Hope TK or Justin have got a shed load of overflow parking arranged as there's the potential for the opener to be a bit big on the rider front!! As long as they've sorted the VIP parking out then I should be OK. ;) Humps

you are most likely right alan, i just like old style tracks where you pedal thats all :LolLolLolLol:
-
well despite my misgivings about the new track at Hersden, the first meeting on the new track was a great success.
the track was easier to ride than i had anticipated my only gripe being the steepness of te start hill, but to be fair you soon got used to it.
turn out was very good with 102 riders and good fun and great racing seemed to be enjoyed by everyone.
big thank you to the Hersden crew who overcame many difficulties to make the day the success it was.
also thanks to Billy Omar who crashed in the first corner in the old school final and handed me second place :LolLolLolLol:
