jmc freddie jones ltd??? WTF???
never heard of one of those before any pics???
emailed jim and ginna om lee he knows his jmc bmx stuff, i think.......

I would have thought there would be way less AP's made as DY was on JMC for a lot longer than AP and the AP was designed for much bigger riders so the DY's would fit more. Also by the time the AP came out, JMC wasn't as sexy and desirable as a lot of other brands that came out at the time. Just my tuppence.

contact jim milton, i met him at the old school bmx society show back in june and hes a cool dude im sure he will give you an answer!! 8)

Sonic,is your DY an 84(judging by the externally butted b.b and the small tube betwen the chain stays)? look much better than the 85 version without either.
-
Spot on Hutchman, The DY is a 84 build with the machined BB, quite rare in its on right.......

-
8/2/1984 1st JMC Andy Patterson Series 278 made in 1984 & 55+ made in 1985
If thats right then JMC were making the f/f a fair bit before Andy left Skyway, he was still riding for Skyway at the 1st Kellogs in 1984 which was in May or June ???

Yeah that`s probably it :idiot2:

Marty,
I think it was about 1000 DY's made compared to the 333 AP's, not a bif difference between both framesets as you can see by the pics, If i recall correctly i think the AP"s are 0.5" longer in the rear triangle....................

best looking bmx race frame for me.
just stunning no matter how you put them together.
i bought my DY complete off ebay, and was chuffed to bits to find it had AP forks on it, and an original padset.
result!
few tweeks later and a whim of a powder colour and it ended up with this.....any excuse to put this picture up :D
