:wtf: They are only handlebars. Some people have more money than sense :idiot2:
-
wow. expensive bars!
-
I'd expect Greg himself to hand deliver them at that price! :D
-
And then install them and teach me how to ride.
-
Hi all
Come on, if you need the item to finish a build, F&F look great, but fully built bikes look better and they are always going to be worth money, they are top bars.
There is also some good reading on OS BMX about the bars and it would be great if they do come to the UK.
It reminds me of numerous posts a while back about the increasing prices and it sure won't be stopping soon.
Great investment is OS BMX and tax free too ;)
J.
-
hi greentoad , totally agree with you , ive enjoyed reading the posts on os bmx for the last few months, i too have paid top money for items , well i just had to have, whether its a good investment or not only time will tell,
the funny thing is ive got my e sniper set for the last minute on these bars and then im going to put straight back on the bay :daumenhoch: :LolLolLolLol:
-
they look like gt pro`s as well . just had a bidding war myself for some forks and won them as well as didn`t think i would as had 2 of the big boys bidding on them .
so what the history on star bars as i don`t remember them ie how do you tell if star bars
-
Wow! thats serious. I found a used set in need of TLC in me mams garage the other week.
Best be popping round and bringing them badboys in me thinks! Hehe
The wrapper was a bit faded though!
-

That makes two of us :D
-
Hope they checked the shipping cost that guy just tried to charge me $27 for shipping one magazine.
-
must say though, I've bought from this guy before and his stuff is the cleanest i've seen
-
makes me wish i didnt cut my set of star bars up to make layback seatposts the other month.
-
Interesting to see how far they will go with the bidding. We all know how long they have both been waiting for a pair!
Prices are starting to go crazy, but we all know that if you need that one piece to finish a build then all common sense tends to go out of the window!
-
didn't a member on this site sell some jmc bars for over £400?
-
It only takes two people bidding against each other, that have what seems to be bottomless bags of cash to drive the price of an item through the roof. Good luck ladds :2funny:
Funny, this GHP lark... I got a full bike... 83 pro for £140 last year on ebay in the UK, and the year before that I bought a used GHP Pro I frame & fork set from Biagio for £50... I got outbid on ebay at £50 by £1 when I first started collecting... on a NOS GHP pro in Germany ??? it sold for £51.00
NOS GHP forks £90 last year...
GHP starbars... got any going cheap I need a set :'(
-

like wise $35 for 1 flight crank arm that rock chick bought in the end......nice bars but way outta my league
-

call me daft but wouldnt these do ??? ??? ??
I agree.Ghp is one of the few that you can still buy new.I suppose these have 'knurling' but its under the stem so who cares.Well spotted that man. :daumenhoch:
Still,if you want them go get them, its only a bit of fun(Expensive fun!!! ::) )
-
oh is that what the knurling is ! , god im ignorant didnt know that !
must improve my knowledge :LolLolLolLol:
-
I will teach you if you give me your HL turbo. :2funny:
Dream dream dream. :LolLolLolLol:
-
:LolLolLolLol:

it's a bit dissapointing that a huge price is gonna be paid for a pair of over rated bars and yet another bog standard (i assume) greg hill replica is gonna be built at the end of this. Cant some one do something a little different with a geezee for a change :)
-
didn't a member on this site sell some jmc bars for over £400?
Yes, and I purchased them, but as there were only about 50 sets of JMC AP bars made, I was more then happy as I needed them to complete my AP build !
Its a crazy hobby for sure "!

what???
:uglystupid2:
-
Orgasmdonor,
I will be building one different from the norm (as I can't source the correct forks for the frame I have), watch this space :daumenhoch:

:uglystupid2:
i assume (guess) that another (one of many) greg hill replica (copy of his bike) is going to be built (obviously guessed correct). Carnt someone (Possibly Frosty, good man) do something a little different (use their imagination instead of duplicating other peoples builds) with a geezee (GHP) for a change.
thats what
yes it'l be nice and expensive, but we've seen them all before, lots of times
its easy to shot a loads of money at a build, but its not big and its not clever, lets face it if you got the cash its out right simple
chill dude, its only a bike, and its only my opinion, nice to get a bite though, been a while ;D
oh, and :uglystupid2: back atcha :D
-
There are replicas and then there are REPLICAS......Watch this space. :daumenhoch:
-
bet you never paid stupid prices for your bars though dude, and anyway you actually have one of gregs own personal bikes so that'l be a restoration not a replica, big difference.
just thought, these replicas are a bit like havin MK111 1.6 escorts and puttin spoilers and xr3 decals on them, same cack engine underneath, to get a bike as good as gregs youd have to get the fat fooker to power it ;D
:LolLolLolLol:

So Danny you'd be ok going to Halfords and buying a new pair of DB bars to put on yer Turbo ? :daumenhoch:
-
Not a GHP fan then, huh?
Oh well, never mind.
-
love ghp's me, by far my favourite f/f set, used to race em and break em BITD and speakin from experience star bars are over rated and crap to ride (though i am fussy on feel of bars and rake) they just never cut it, cant see the point of spendin stupid money just to build another greg replica, just fancy seein somethin new
-
And what would you suggest is something new then?
-
Paint it pink and have those barbie grip tassles on em. that's different.
That'd blow them away at any old school meet. Just don't take it to Rockingham or they'll all die from sudden heart faliure ;D ;D ;D
-
Do it white :daumenhoch:
-
anything other than a greg replica, :wtf:
im sure youve got some amazin bits knockin about, mix it up dude get it on, lets see what you can do without bein influenced by whats already a standard.
dan dares GHP is fookin fantastic classic old school ride, look n learn :D it's in the museum on the old site
ps mines white
-
I dont think I have ever done a Greg replica, to be honest. I dont really understand what you are on about.
I have the frame that Greg used to win the 84 series with - I make no apologies for making that a Greg replica (of sorts). The rest I will make as I see fit - if you dont like it, and with all deference, of course - TOUGH!!! Look elsewhere.

:uglystupid2:
whats this about then? i may have assumed wrong and who said you where gonna win the bars?
why assume that any of comment was at all refferenced to you?
well? ;)
-
nice to see I too can get a bite.
