Well that was a worth while little trip.

GHP was in need of a little TLC but I decided to buy it anyway as I like restoring things. I bought the bars that came with it as well. I also picked up a pair of MKS Graphite x pedals in 9/16 that were still in the box. They've got a slight nick on them but I do mean slight and have never been mounted on a bike.

Result.

oh and here's a couple of pics to be going on with

The bars have a Tuff Nech decal on them, I'll look into what they are though. They could be star bars after all and I could then retire.  ;D ;D ;D

So that makes this another early one, Jan 84 proddy number 425.

Not sure when VDC stopped making them but have a look at the point where the top tube meets the seat tube, if it is squashed into an oval should be a VDC :daumenhoch:

How much???

It is squashed at the seatpost where the seat stays meet it.

What I paid is a trade secret ;D ;D ;D

It'll probably be restored and then sold. I'm not about to start paying silly money for GHP parts that aren't available.

It looks like a 8" rise and a 6" rise to the crossbar.

They've been cut down slightly as well under closer inspection and have a Tuff-Neck decal on them.

 ;)
I was lucky to be able to just go today as I had this week off work.

Those pedals were really good weren't they. Haven't seen another pair that clean for ages.

The Bars do look like they are Tuff Neck bars which must be quite rare. Will probably let them go as well as I need the money to put towards the new race bike I got from you.

Talking of which would I be able to pop it up to yours so that you could get the headset fitted. I don't want to bugger it up.

:10_2_12:That Patterson I remember Ken's youngest Daughter Miranda used to race on it BITD. Ken is a well known CON ARTIST!!!!!!! He used to take free stickers out of boxes of grips & sell them to the kids seperately. He also used to order Bikes for kids & let other kids have a go on them before the first kid came to pick it up, hoping they would order one too.
He hasn't got a Swimming Pool in his back garden by repairing punctures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny you should mention that, but I went into the wrong bike shop initially and he said exactly the same thing.

Everything I bought today was alright though.
