Just been to Brittany for the half term week with the family, we were driving along a road, and something caught my eye dumped at the side of the road, si I turned around the car and went back, along with an old busted up racing bike was this....

So, straight in the back of the hired Berlingo it went, didnt have much of a look at it untill we got back to the house, I did notice that it was an ultra burner, with its original wheels and this

along with the Tange forks.
I also noticed it had a steel 3pc crank on, unfortunately, fitted in a rather unusual way.....

It has the complete rear end from another bike fitted in a `cut and shut' stylie,
this being the end result!

Forks, stem and DC brake came home in my suitcase, hard work explaing to the Douanes at Dinard yesterday!, araya's are coming home at Christmas when we drive over, I might make a wall display from the front of the frame, or chuck it in the skip, all the bits will be for sale later.

Obviously, the frame is knack, but the wheels, forks, rear brake and stem are well within scope of resto, so will be on here forsale at some point in the future, if the frame was complete, I still wouldn't want it, just can't understand why someone would bother to create such a beast (not a burner!!)
Still a lucky find I reckon!

thats cosmic......... :2funny: gotta be bike of the month material! :4_17_5:

good find but no way a burner frame, those rear drop outs are made for gears

Did you read the first post on the thread - the bike is a MK1 Burner front end welded to the rear end of another unknown frame. :)
Still too good for a cheese eating surrender monkey IMO. :Great_Britain:

The Tange forks look to be in decent nick so not too bad of a find IMO. :D

Yes, the forks do look pretty good, I'd forgotten that Ultra's had tange forks, need a refurb, but still have both chrome plugs so should be ok, might see if Del has stickies available, nice and light too.
