Title: 1982 Supergoose [FINISHED] (UK advert spec - finally done !)

Right then...........

Had this on the go for over 2 years now !  :shocked:

I remember way back in June 2008 Kev (KDW712) sent me a scan of the 1982 UK advert from BMX action. Since then I've been slowly getting all the right bits for her in nice enough condition to go on the build. It hasn't been easy !  ;D

The one thing I had t let go from the original spec was the mongoose snakebellies - never seen a mint set in red in the 2 years of looking and the last set in blue went on US ebay for over $600 !  :shocked:

So I went for union snakebellies instead.

Other than that she's exact, with some hard to find parts like the mongoose seat, 1st gen renthal post and NOS original mongoose grips.

The frame is in very nice condition - original chrome AND original decals.

Full Spec:

1982 supergoose frame & forks (original chrome and decals)
mongoose stamped stainless steel bars
mongoose golds stem (with correct 2nd gen blocks)
NOS original 7/8" stamped mongoose grips (nice one Kev)
mongoose stamped headset & BB
mongoose stamped seat clamp & reflector
araya 7x
union snakebelly tyres
genuine mongoose stamped seat (made by viscount)
1st gen renthal straight seatpost with original 1st gen survivor decal
mongoose stamped 175mm crank (original chrome)
mongoose stamped spider
NOS skyway tuff pedals (original cage finish unpolished)
Dia Compe Prebent levers and Dia Compe 890/1020 calipers
Genuine original mongoose vinyl padset.

ive been waitin for years to se an exact spec uk goose like this.
i remember lookin at one in a shop in huddersfield in 82, and i picked up the double sided catalogue/leaflet ,which i still have,never thought i would see the actual spec bike again.

I spot one big mistake.....The right pedal is a bit higher on the advert pic, turn the crank a little  ;)

All of us who are actually old enough to remember trips to local bike shops in the beginning of widespread BMX in the UK cannot deny this is an iconic bike we all wanted as it was the first time I recall we had the option to have a better spec bike than the one your mom and dad could afford.

Love this bike and am amazed by the pedals - wtf?

Top build as ever John , like a lot of RADsters have already said your attention to detail is second to none  :4_17_5:

I know how particular and patient you have been with this build so to see it finally come together must be very rewarding for you  ;)

Great example of a very iconic bike from BITD  8)

Now get cracking on the other 25 you still have to build  ;D  and if you get a spare 5mins ....... stain that fookin fence  :LolLolLolLol:
