Title: Decal removal and keeping them intact for Del tracing
Post by: Swivel on November 09, 2010, 05:14 PM
Is there a way to get decals off a frame and keep them sort of intact so I can send to Del to trace? let me know, thanks in advance.

I use lighter fluid to remove decals safely.  It takes a while to remove them without stretching them and also your fingers go white  :idiot2:.

Matt

Heat them with a hairdryer then slowly and carefully peel them off. Take care not to stretch them, but if you do. Before you stick them to anything bung hairdryer on full and heat them again they should shrink back to original shape.

Matt,

just heat them as basically the glue melts and they peel off easily. Plonk them on a piece of paper and send to Del.

He done my Nishiki ones like that, they came back perfect.

Go careful with heating them, too much heat and they could crease and burn.
