Can someone point me at the thread that say what you need to do this?
Was it oven pride?
:daumenhoch:
-
Yes oven pride does the trick :daumenhoch:
-
yeah oven pride Ed, about £5-7 i think in Tesco, red box and comes with everything you need. put the part/s in the bag supplied, poor over some of the gloopy liquid, seal the bag and give them a gentle rub through the bag. you'll see the stuff start to come off. once it's all come off simply open the bag and put some washing up liquid in then some warm water to neutralise ('spelling) the oven pride :daumenhoch:
sometimes you get some blackening but this comes off with a good polish :daumenhoch:
-
Caustic Soda - strips the anno and this is found in oven pride (small amounts, hence it takes a while).
I use pure Caustic Soda - you need to be more careful but is quicker, B/Q sell it used for cleaning drains, and you can get it from chemist too..
Do not get any on your hands, do not breath the vapour and watch your eyes.. :D
Rinse clean with water and it's fine.

I thank you Gents... off doon Tessies later

With oven pride, its better if you put the item in a container, pour on the gloop and wearing marigolds (gayer the beter) rub the anno off by hand :daumenhoch:
