Blue Tuffs look sweet 8)
I'm with you though on the seap/post combo. Maybe just a simple chrome post?
Either way. Nice job Daz :daumenhoch:
-
proper old school look that is.
love it.
gotta get me another T/A 8)
-
Daz that is a great looking bike
but yeah change the seat for another nice white seat, Kashi ,Elina flyte tech or lightning possibly
Nice with the Vbars and blue tuffs :smitten:
First build of many I hope :daumenhoch:
just , dont take 4 years for the next one :D
-
thanks for all the positive comments guys ;)
i'm working on the seat / seat post issue straight away would a layback look wrong ??
definately not going to be the first build and hopefully not so long too till the next ;D
-
Laid back seat post are a personal choice because , some people like , and some don't now
Funny because they were all the rage back then
I've tried them on a few builds in recent years , liked em and then swapped
Basically , you can't go wrong with a nice straight chrome post
But you do what you like
To give you a bit of an idea ,,here's mine with and without

HD loving the look with both the straight and the layback but i think your right
straight does look awsome
i'm glad i fitted the "totally aerodynamic" decal as far forward as i did....... i can see you have too , i looked at many pics on the site and position varied quite a lot
still yet to apply stickies to the cranks when i'm sure which one's to go for :LolLolLolLol:

Nice TA
Now thats attention to detail making sure the tyres are in the same position on both wheels :daumenhoch:

I have the label at top centre to the valve at the bottom centre
I got Diggler to build my wheels so the logoson the Hutch hubs faced you when the valve were at bottom centre too :D
Stamping on the chainring at top centre when drive arm points to 3 o'clock
Basically anything with writing/logo on it has to face the drive side and be central
OCD is a must ;)

Hi Daz
The build looks great, I'm a straight post kind of guy and personally prefer more post showing so that the top of the seat lines up with the highest part of the cross bar on the Handlebars, but each to there own of course.
So glad that you kept the original chrome as so many have been re-chromed or powdered over the years.
If I remember the SKYWAY logo and knurling on the forks and rear dropouts were in near mint condition. To keep them looking fresh you can use dropout savers to protect (if you have already used these great).
Letting that F&F go was one of my big regrets and I often thought about it and how good it looked. I also used to log in on here over the years and see if you had done any updates, glad that you have finally got it built up (doesn't time fly by).
Hoping that all is well.
J.
