i need to find out if somthing is ti .. apart from the weight is there another way to tell .. will a magnet attract ti ti ????

not sure for all grades but the Ti stuff i use is NON magnetic  ;)

some ti stuff is magnetic if you have titainium plates in your body they will be ripped out but a cat scan

the colour will also be different to steel or try phils technique as it seems by far the most accurate one

According to wikipedia titanium shavings 'pose a significant fire hazard and when heated in air, an explosion hazard.' Get the file out and some swan vestas. >:D Maybe you should wear safety gear, a pair of marigolds and sunglasses should do the trick.

Its made from ally and vanadium so grind an old spanner and if the sparks are the same its ti :LolLolLolLol:

lee 304 308 and 314 stainless steel is also not magnetic, the only real way to tell is weight and colour unless you dont mind grinding or taking back to bear material

lick it, we do it at work. TI bolts taste distinctly different from steel.
