Title: ski bikes

with all this snow were getting at the momment has anyone thought about building a ski bike?

id love one but we rarely get enough snow esp down in southsea :( :(

Funny, they've been around for years and years, but they never looked quite right to me.  Then someone does the obvious and keeps regular cranks and pedals on and it all makes sense  :daumenhoch:

youve been able to hire these on the slopes for  years now. you see people hire em then think  :wtf: then  :10_2_12: then take em back 30 mins later  :LolLolLolLol:

If I could buy the front and rear hub/ski bits I'd be seriosly tempted to but a set for these snowy occasions - just whip of the wheels, chain and chainring and pop on the skis!

I think someone with the manufacturing skills could make a decent profit selling a BMX snow conversion kit!

only prob is you will have to tighten cvranks so they dont spin like mad ,and engineering the part that rotates on what looks like kind of spring on the ski parts bvut man they are rad fookers for sure love the vid

well southsea is ment to get a whole 6in of snow tonight so i wish i had ski bike for tomorrow

the springs just stop it all binding up tight,they have catch hooks to stop the skis flipping right up 
easy little number to build.

You can knock one up with old bits.

you will need -

old rim
old frame forks stem n bars
broken sk8 board
some screws
an old hub
some kind of bracket

funny i looked in these years ago when i started snowboarding, the ones you can hire suck, they weigh a ton and looked impossible to table   :LolLolLolLol:

i did look into doing the bike conversion thing as you could buy the kit, but its expensive!
