Title: primo hollowbites----pedal insert in crank arms
Post by: calmac on December 03, 2010, 05:19 PM
Got a spinning insert, is there a special tool to hold the insert whilst removing pedal as it has 2 insert slots,(tried caliper pliers i have but they're too weak), or any other ideas guys ?

THANKS

As a last resort you could drill a small hole in the end of the crank arm that goes all the way to the insert, tap it and put a grub screw in it to secure the insert, it should be fine long term

SORTED  :daumenhoch:  Anyone else gets this problem, get some Shock & Unlock from Halfords, forgot i had it in the shed,AMAZING stuff, frees of most anything that's seazed up.
Just sprayed, left overnight & gave it a good solid crack with a mallet on the pedal spanner  :4_17_5:
