Title: 11/8 to inch

can anyone explain how to convert inch fra,me to inch 11/8 forks fitting pleasa3e
whoops thats not what i meant lol other way round lol
inch and 1/1/8 frame .fitting inch threaded forks is what i want doh

That "1978 melded with 2007 technology" hacking sounds absolutely doable
So off to  finding a (new school) steerer tube race matching both the forks and a 1" cup
and possibly also an old 1" bearing cage matching both the forks and the race

...and a headset a dp or ammaco could agree with  ::)

i did this a few years ago, i bought shims from somewhere that fitted into the frame but there was no chance of the cups going in. i found the perfect way of doing it was to measure the length of you're headtube and cut a piece of 0.7mm thick aluminium sheet slightly shorter than your headtube and roll it to make a pipe. then use a rubber mallet to insert it into the heatube. it takes a little time to get the pipe just the right size circumference so the ends are butted together and not overlapping but when the cups go in their nice and tight. i used this setup for years with no problems at all.

think that was the one's that i tried but didn't work, they fitted the frame but no chance of the cups going in. unless they sent me the wrong ones.
