New school Greg?
http://www.duobrand.com/v1/
I'm giving duo brand stunners a try, not as grippy as the KHE's they replaced for park use but unlike KHE's should be ok for occasional track or trails use... havent tried em on track yet though
Good thread idea, any more suggestions for all round use?
-
i use khe mac2's, have been excellent for park use for over a year now and will prob get atleast another year out of them but i dont thik they would be much cop on track
primo dirtmonsters would prob be a good comprimise :daumenhoch:

Maxxis DTH, best all rounder there is, Very good on the track , awesome on trails, awesome indoor on wood and nearly as light as KHE if you get the folders. Grifters are another lightweight Maxxis option and by all accounts people use em for racing in the summer so just as versatile.

very fast tyres greg, they got a smooth rib right along centre so smooth on straight n grippy n corners :daumenhoch:

the dth look good but not sure on how they would grip on muddy track for winter use look good for summer and park though .
-
i use an animal glh 2.25 on the front and an animal asm 2.1 on the back both at 100psi. great for park, don't think they would be any good for track tho as the asm tyre is a slick.

Greg, they are race specific tyres that happen to be very good indoors, they really are mega, I have em on my jumpy and my cruiser. The only criticism would be slipping on the gate when its wet, other than that they are really good on wet tracks :daumenhoch:

Interesting - MK is the ONLY place this year that a Comp III was any good, everywhere else the treads just don't work on the hardpacked dirt and tarmac. I'll keep them on for authenticity though. Them Kenda's look good with the blocks close and linked as well, should do well on all the firm tracks :daumenhoch:
My cruiser has Intense Haalo on which are pretty good but they're getting a bit dry and old. I'm looking for something else for the summer for all round use and am sure I don't need a huge blocky tyre. I was thinking seriously about Micro Knobbys or Small Block 8 but don't want something that's useless if it rains a bit and gets muddy (anyone use them in the mud?), which rules out them Powerblocks as well.
My OM Flyer has K-rad on which seem to work well but it's not had track use. They seem good for occasional off road and they roll well on tarmac roads at speed for a knobbly tyre.
Anyone use Holy Rollers?

I use a comp III (black wall) fat/thin combo for racing - I know they're crap on mondern tracks but I don't wanna upset the Old School Race police!
I'm gonna try a Primo Dirt Monster (Front) and V-Monster (Rear) at Ramp City on Friday.
I'm tempted to go for Dirt Monsters for racing - has anyone used 'em, how do they compare to a Comp III tread?
-
Aitken 2.125 front, DTH 1.95 rear.

Same as anything
If you buy a product that does everything , you'll get a jack of all trades , master of none ::)
KHE Dirt ( foldable ) probably one of the best all rounders
Mac2 for park or Aitkens
Schwalbe Mow Joe kevlar awesome track tyre
plus KHE twiggy innertubes :)
Any of these are mega low weight, revolving mass , the most effective way to save weight on a bike , better than Ti -ing your bike :)

put at least 60psi in the dirt monsters and you will shit yourself how fast they feel compared to comp 3s, i used em alot back n front but switched to a comp 8 on front for grip on hartlepools dirt berms in winter n just stuck with that set up ever since
