i bought this early GT pro off a local boot sale a while back.
although it was cheap.it was well bashed up.
the seat post must have got stuck in the frame at sometime and the daft bastards had smashed the top tube and behind the seat tube to death with what looked like a lump hammer.
dents all over that area.then they must have had the bright idea to cut the seat tube off to get at it :idiot2:.
anyway whatever they did must not have worked as it was stuck in the seat tube with the top all mangled up.
the rear drops where the worst i've seen. paper thin and totally knackered.
anyway got intouch with steve (animal) as he's only up the road from the old mans back in the midlands and one of my old muckas from years back.
left it in the back of his landy one afternoon then waited for the pm of abuse for what i'd took him to mend :D.
anyway he got intouch last night with a few pics.
gotta say this man can do wonders with a welder and a bit metal.
i deffo thought it was beyond repair.he's even filled all the dents for me and believe me it had loads.
managed to even keep the serial number in it for me 8)
anyway heres a few pics of before and after.
cheers again steve.you is deffo "THE" bodger :4_17_5:.

What are your plans for it Big Bear?
-
Steve may be a genious with a welder & hammers, but he is still easily confused by beer so thankfully he's just a mere mortal like the rest of us and a top fella ;-)
Looking forward to seeing this one when that Gypo Dordy is rooting through my garage looking for bits next time ;-D Just as long as he doesn't wear the apron he had on when he was spraying his Redline the other week! Now that was too scary...
-
another great save :daumenhoch: Seeing this sort of thing just puts you on the edge of your seat waiting for the rest of the build to come together. :coolsmiley:
