Title: SOS - MAYDAY MAYDAY
Post by: BENDYCAT ELEVENTEEN on December 11, 2010, 09:26 PM
Been building a ride and got to the brakes -- F'ING HELL  :tickedoff: IT'S DOING ME NUT IN  :tickedoff: :2gunsfiring_v1:

The bike in question is a GT 2001 making then mid new school dia compe 880's (i think)

front - cable in pots mod and through forks and out to side through cable tab - facing fork front - left arm top wants to pull to the right - left top side wants to pull right as well

back - right side top wants to pull right - left side top want to pull right and spring want only go so far before hopping out

now i know that the cable hooks on to the triangle which is tightened to the rear cable / cable tab / brake - can the cable on the calipers be looped around the seat post like a cancer ribbon badge ?

is there any body in near the Guildford area that can  help please - any one work in a bike shop - this is doing my nut in and i only have one week to find out what the f'ing hellis going on and to fix it

I would have put it in tech but need phyical help and not just on the laptop

please help - cheers B  :-[

Yeah, you can loop the rear straddle cable as you suggest but really there's no need.

I'd bet a pound to a pinch of shit that your springs are either the wrong way round, adjusted wrong or both...  ;)

You're more than welcome to slap up here to Romford anytime tomorrow or all next week and I'll sort them out for you, and you can have a roll around Rom skatepark while you're here.

right can yer tell me which way each arm should swing to from the top ?

Stick a couple of photos up, so we all know what we're talking about and I'll walk you through it.

If your springs aren't fcuked, we can sort this out tonight  :)

Ok, best start from the beginning, which is a bit long-winded so.....

I'll leave you and Chris to get together and fettle it, but failing that give me a nudge and we'll do it online stylee   :)

Chris knows what he's doing no worries.

There's just a few rules to follow with ADs, once you know 'em they're pretty straightforward.
