hi radsters, been back into bmx for just over a year now, this is my second build, a haro group1 rs1 being the first as a tester...... nuff said. :crazy2:
i always wanted a chrome gt as a kid, but money being a big factor in the house hold, my dad found me a bike at the tip and transformed it into a beaut little bike, which i loved until someone half inched it.
having always loved the gt bmx, when markyp put this 1984 pro frame & forks up for sale i couldn't resist......
This is no show winner by all means, as im going to ride it, the f&f, bars, wheels, brakes, crank, are survivor, and i have tried to keep the survivor look, with the exception off a few bits!
can't wait to get it down my old race track! western park in leicester.............. ;D im really pleased with it, a few piccy's, sorry bout the picnic bench set and lack of sun, hope iv'e done it justice.... enjoy gt fans!
id also like to thank a few peeps on here for help and support with a few parts.
markyp, quadrophenia, pickle, davevilla, snav69, macmania. cheers guys! :daumenhoch:

I had a GT standard (expert) the same ,as a kid :smitten: so I have a soft spot for em

Very nice.... :4_17_5:
Tighten the chain before you ride it though... :daumenhoch:
-
awesome work wayne, youve more than done it justice :smitten:
-
Really nice lookin' bike matey but if your going to use it as a rider I would put a longer stem on :daumenhoch:
-
Nice bike, always fancied a GT myself.
Western Park isn't what it was, used to race there myself back in 82,3 and 4, pretty much a right off this time of year too.
Where in Leicester are you?, Huncote is a nice `easy' track, pretty good all year due to tarmac berms, not brill, but rideable and apparently there is still a track at Shepshed, not been though. Beaumont leys could be good, but isn't!!!
I am in Kirby Muxloe, let us know of any spots you may know of!
Get yourself down to the boardroom (check `members gatherings, Lest'air thread') next saturday, for a very relaxed roll around indoors!!
-
proper nice that mate, nice1 :daumenhoch:
-
cheers for all the comments guys! much appreciated! :daumenhoch: there will be a few tweaks, the chain slacked off abit when i blasted it through the house, and the stem, but as im only 5 foot should be fine :LolLolLolLol:
