tonight's topic is safety gear for a newbie (but oldie)...
never had any bitd but apart from it being compulsory at that corby place it's probably a good idea anyway
so can anyone recommend me some cheap but decent gear, ie
- helmet for a big head (lol) - was going to go for pisspot but might have to be full face in case I get a sudden attack of bottle at some point
- gloves/pads?
any advice/links/much appreciated for my list to santa :daumenhoch:
cheers

661 comp lid about 50 quid
brand x elbow/forearm pads 17 quid
661 kyle strait knee pads 28 quid :daumenhoch:
-
thanks rooski
pads not the cheapest but seem to get good reviews :daumenhoch:
also like the idea of wearing them under stuff so I don't look like an imperial stormtrooper
might go for the pisspot though and stay off the vert (haha bottling already!)
anyone use anything else they can recommend? what about gloves?
cheers

Just don't go cheap on a lid , heads are expensive ;)
-
they've got a bell faction at the rad shop (which is not too far from me) along with a few bits I need to finish my bike - good price too!
rather than gamble with mail order/my head measuring think it makes sense to just go and try it on for size at the weekend.

The RADshop is cool, nowt wrong with the Bell Faction lid either :daumenhoch:
-
do they have a special '40 and over' section for their older clientele so they can discreetly shop and avoid the ridicule from younger customers who have realised the middle-aged bloke with the xmas belly has actually come in for himself?
;D
err 'it's for my son, he just happens to have the same head size as me
