Hello chaps!
Found this old pic today taken outside HotWheels in Bournemouth in 1985. That's my mate Chris Taylor on his TA, with me trusty old Performer (with coaster brake spokes on!) leaning against the wall. Check out the framesets in the window and a rather fetching CW race suit. I'd just bought a set of pink MX1000's which can be seen in a bag over my front wheel...oh, and the front stunt pegs were home-made by my grandad. Nice!
Brings back some memories, eh?

Cool - did you use to race at Bournemouth track then dude?
-
they had a shop in cosham in portsmouth aswell, run by Mick Whitlock who also ran and built Whitehawk racing bikes, i've still got my Hotwheels Whitehawk racing shirt, bit small though :) top bloke gave me a load of stuff when the whitehawk shop in horndean closed, all i got left is some whitehawk sticker sets
graham who runs Hotwheels came to last years bournemouth reunion, he was amazed to see my zeronine (i asked him if he had any 80's stuff - but he'd bunned it :(), which he imported because he liked the race gear, that reminds me i'm still after a black raceshirt

HotWheels are still going very strongly - they have a huge purpose built distribution unit on a new industrial estate near Poole.
Matt Farrow was also at the Bournemouth meet last year on a very nice Patterson Pro, he has worked at Hot Wheels for most of his life and used to race for them too......there's a pic of him & me at Bournemouth somewhere.

I rode at Bournemouth loads of times, I live in Bristol and raced in the South Central region, which included Bournemouth, Poole, Southampton and Wimborne.
Here is a picture of me (riding for GT) at the 1st turn at the 1995 UKBMX National at Bournemouth.

Good eye. Here's a weird tale, my white Free Agent forks are from Hotwheels. Considering they only made 300 Free Agent framesets, I wonder if my forks belonged to the frame in the window?
Even odder (almost positive), my CW luggage rack is from Hotwheels.
