Lucky me got my hands on a NOS 91 Haro Sport frame, only downside is its missing the forks and out of all the colours available for this bike its the only one that doesnt float my boat.
So I will be very carefully removing the decals and sending them off to Del for reproducing, would like them back on the bike when finished but with colouring to match the fresh coat of powder it will be getting from the lovely SBD.
Parts that will be going on this are either NOS or minty and they include,
Haro Group 1 Stem
Haro Kneesavers
Tech 77 Levers
AME Grips
Peregrine Semi Pro Wheels
Peregrine HP-48 Tyres
Dia Compe Nippon Front Caliper
Odyssey Pitbull Rear Brake
Viscount Dominator Seat
Haro Fusion Seat Clamp
Redline Flight Cranks
Really looking forward to getting this one done as I've always wanted one of these, lets hope I can keep it longer than 5 minutes unlike my previous rides...... :LolLolLolLol:

what colour are you going for robbo ?always liked that gun metal rather than the lime that they did also

Hmm, the original colour is a bit wishy washy for my liking guys. Would like to keep it original but I would never be happy with it, I'm going black like my old Master with bright decals.

not a fan of 90s decals tbh, but really like the original colour!

thats john buultjens you've been talking to on the museum, he's a mate of mine originally from dundee now living in oz. he's got the best collection of factory spec haro's i've ever seen. i would go for either black or a neon colour on your build, was never too keen on the grey myself.

Robbo, seriously. You have a NOS frame, in it's original colour. Why would you change the paint?
I agree, it's not the most desirable colour, I don't much like what Haro optimistically called "Platinum" lol but it's a NOS frame...
Personally I couldn't change it, but it's your ride!

I would like to like this colour and it doesnt look bad but Im not sure, I want it to have the same look and colouring as my old Master below.
The Sport may be NOS but it does have a few storage marks so its not mint and Im a bit fussy when it comes to finish. ::)

I've got 2 of these frames, the other for a mate and I've done a good job of removing the decals on his frame, Del will be having a look at them to reproduce a custom set if I decide to strip the other.
I've got some forks coming, maybe I could get the bars and forks powdered black first and see how it looks, if I dont like it get Dan to do the frame then..... ;)

That´s really a little bit violent to stripp off the original paint.
I have now the opposite problem: I am looking for the colour # of the Haro Master green:

Why not build it as it is and stay on the lookout for a dog-rough example to have powdered at a later date?
Nowt stopping you tansferring all the bits to the powdered one when it is done and passing the NOS one on to someone who wants a NOS grey frame...

Ok tonight I've partially set it up using some parts from another build I'm doing, still not 100% on the colour but I think if the forks and bars where black it could look good. ;)

Yeah but ignore the wheels, the Peregrines to go on it are a matt silver finish so wont be as bling. :)

personally I keep the bars chrome and go with the lime green/yellow fromthe decals for the forks... kind of like that black and orange sport ( I think ) that Spesh had.

Ha Ha you numpty, I went with the Haro decal on the forks as this frame came without forks so Del had nothing to work with on the repro side. I think they look ok mate and anyway you ride a brown bike with white tyres so who are you to tell about what looks good!?!?!?! ;D :P ;)

I'd never seen it either Rob... its a beauty. I prefer the chrome bars/ seat post combo on yours :daumenhoch:

My bars are powdered poppet. I was going to buy Spesh's frame but got there too late. Have wanted a Sport for a long time, had been pestering JT71 to sell his lime green one but he wasn't having none of it! ;-)

Theres a guy on the bmxmuseum who lives in Australia who makes a very good repro of the original decals with the detailing on the cogs as well, I'm going to get a set of his fork decals and send them to Del so he can add my colours then all should be good. :daumenhoch:

Was always a bit unsure about the pale pink used in my last decals so Del has very kindly worked on my vision and come up with the following, Im really pleased and glad to have stuck them on without c*cking it up, the downtube is a pig to do and still not quite right with how it looks in the brochure but sod it I just want to enjoy the bike now!

The fork decals are coming from Aus and havent been sent yet so you may have long wait Ed! ;D

The Master I stupidly let go was Black, will have another this year though. ;) I got the forks from ebay, there Haro Group 1 forks as finding the originals is going to be a waiting game....... :daumenhoch:

lol always another in the pipe line ay im trying to get a haro edge sent over at the minute as i cant find any here and always keeping an eye out for an 89 bully bashguard amongst other frames , has froff been keeping in touch as he told me he was chasing up the artist for the decals but he has gone quiet again :'( ive been waiting aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages but im sure it will b worth it ive also got a set coming from del but gotta wait for him to recieve your fork decals before i get my full set !! y are these sports such bastardos!! gotta lovem tho :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:

That green is sweet! thats not a stock colour is it? I thought they had 990 mounts?
Its the Flourescent green I used on the DP build, my mate was really into the colour so I gave him my left over powder. I think the 990 mounts were only on the non Bashguard Sports and Masters around 91?
