Post by: lk_97 on January 20, 2011, 07:18 PM
hi guys, got this a long time ago, i think it's a mongoose but i'm not so sure, I will have pictures up as soon as i can find my memory card reader
but, here's a serial number:
M3-H7693
this was in the bmx chat section, but I thought it was probably in the wrong place.
thanks :daumenhoch:

I'm sure Bobafett or one of the other Goose Ganderers will be along to give you a proper answers soon, but...

...it think the serial makes it a an 83 Mongoose (that's the first 3 in the serial) made in August (the H part. H being the 8th letter/month).

Get some pics up

M = Merida manufactured in Taiwan
3 = 1983
H = August
7693 = build number

Could do with a side-on pic but from the pics you posted and the serial I would say it is a 1983 mongoose "expert" and that will be main tubes chro-mo rear tubes steel.

It's probably not likely to be a Blue Max as the earliest I've seen on this shape frame is a september, but you never know with mongoose  :D

These are the decals you need for a mongoose expert :
