The whole retro/repro/reissue thing has been done to death now - and in the process killed the reputation and enigma of the brands we held dearly. It's a crying fooking shame.

The only company who has sucessfully re-issued something without killing itself is S&M with the Dirtbike.

Post by: firebird on January 24, 2011, 01:18 PM
why are they calling them skyways?  ::)

the mk1 tuff had skyways, the mk2 mag burner had simplex mags

I think this is trying to be a bit of both

Have you seen the Super Tuff Burner as well...WTF is going on with the tyres? All black? All blue on the mag burner...can even be arsed to put skinwalls on them now.

Really this is disgusting.

I thought some of the other retro shite was shite. But these are really shite.
Title: Re: Another classic...killed.
Post by: JT71 on January 24, 2011, 02:58 PM
there was a Tuff burner and a Mag Burner wasn't there?

whatever, who the fokk thought a black seat would be a good idea?
other than that some kids will love having that bike, just it's a little too pricey for what it is.

you know.............these re-issues......it's OUR fault....I mean you know, Burnerworld and RAD and all this interest in old bikes has fuelled this!

lol.

Very true, but with all the information and resources available to be able to get it right...we can't be to blame for the shoddy shite they put out.

I know... I know....  :idiot2: :idiot2: :2funny:

They are indeed an embarassment.

The 25th Anniversary Team bikes were 'ok'? not as good as the guys who were running the project at Raleigh wanted, but they were not 'too' bad...

In the past 12 months Raleigh have been churning shome right cr@p out and its no suprise that the guys who loved BMX and were the force behind the 25th Ann. Team bikes are no longer working at Raleigh... whoever has taken over product development and is in charge of the BMX dept is a right twonk...

I 've emailed Raleigh several times and asked them WTF they are playing at but have yet to have a response.

looks fookin orribble,    wheels are Skyway utilities ,i think , which  i believe skyway can sell cheaper than the new tuffs ,   :uglystupid2:,  which is why all them big mama death traps have em on ,   although originally they had new but proper tuffs on,        not a    Bummer     fan at all,     but its a shame that they have done such bad job , you think they might have learned something the first time round ,  some fooker wants sacking over a Raliegh for approving the final spec , obviously knows fook all about bmx and certainly hasn't had the common sence to look at an old catalog or advert, just in it to turn over the cash as most of the new range are just shite six month lifespan bikes  , just like they did before,   shame realy,

What do the bummers on bummer world think?  I bet they love it  :uglystupid2:

Yeah... cheers...

I forgot we're the second class citizens of the BMX community.

The BMX fans on BURNERworld are well aware of Raleigh's mistakes on these retro bikes, but if it gives you guys another reason to take the p1$$ so be it...  :buck2:

In my opinion - over the years, things evolve and grow and become more developed...
so - a range of bikes that were fooking sh1t back in the day, have evolved/grown into the worst looking retro pieces of arse Ive ever seen. I know it's a different company now, different peeps in charge etcet c- but there is NO EXCUSE for this level of utter barrel scraping cack.
Well done Raleigh on utterly killing any chance of ever being thought of fondly by anyone who isnt already a Burner nut.
