1983 YAMAHA BYZ 401
I have always had a big passion for Yamaha`s, as I have ridden them in motocycle trials since a wee lad in 1978 through to today in twinshock motocross on my 1981 Yamaha YZ 465.
So when this BYZ frame came up I had to have it! and wanted to do this bike build serious justice! They are quite rare to find in England as they are French built, hence the time it has taken to find as many original parts as possible. The ultimate motocross pit bike!!

That is very special, a shop near me in the mid 90's still had a yamaha bmx poster on the wall still. Bar the seat and seat post that is one lovely bike that will surely get you noticed in the pit.

Great job that. It looks mint :4_17_5: really good photos to. :)

Thanks for the comments,
The yam is now fitted with an original `YAMAHA` seat and took a bloody long time to find, and after I had the photos done!
The laprade post was fitted to these as standard and wanted to keep the bike as original as pos.

Nice work Sham, welcome to the BYZ 401 club mate, that looks ace.
Glad you have finally found a Yamaha seat.
As for the comments on seat and seat post etc, these are the parts that were on these bikes bitd, it is a damn sight harder to find original/obscure parts than it is to stick a generic seat post and kashi aero seat on it. Believe me it takes bloody ages to try to get a bike back to its original state using original parts than to buy any old crap off of ebay. Sorry Rant over.
This is the Yamaha seat and laprade seat post on my BYZ 401
