Hi folks,
Got this off gay bay, when it arrived it looked like the front had been chewed by a dog. However, the price I paid was less than I have seen the guts go for on here so I was pleased regardless.

that looks :4_17_5: did you loose any of the grain effect
-
Blinking ell - were do I start... :P
The bite marks I lightly filed off the raised bits and then filled the holes using fibreglass resin and a tooth pick to localise the repair
When that set, wet and dry paper '1200' to remove any excess, I also sanded any other marks on the seat at this stage, going in one direction as this stops the nylon fibres splitting.
I then gave it a light dusting of plastic primer and then on with a 'black paint pen', you get great coverage with these and because its not thick you don't loose grain as such, I purchased some laquer (semi gloss) from b & q and gave it 3 light coats.
I have used this process before, 6/8 months ago and the seat has took a lot of stick and it still looks great..
This is seat I did before - I used clear plastic primer on this.
