Title: de-anno-ing black dx HELP!!

ive stripped heaps of stuff the last year or so but the black ano on these shimano dx just doesnt want to shift.theyve been in the oven pride for about half an hour and look exactly the same,were the black dx paint and not ano???

i founf on my Epoch headsets that the black doesn't come off with oven pride or nitromors - i got a razor and caught a edge, and itstarted to peel up like chrome flake - trouble is not all of it is flaking and seems stuck on  tighter than shite to a blanket
maybe some thing like a acid will get it off
I don't know if it is the same stuff as yours - you might find out when nitro has no effect !

Could they have been powdered at some point???
They could be a real b'stard if they have...let us know wot done the job though..I've got a black set of DX's i've been meaning to do myself  :daumenhoch:

Turns out both pairs started out red...

Made a right balls up spraying the red un's....  :crazy2:

Black ones turned out ok though, cant really go far wrong with black

I still can't beleive with the number of posts on this subject that you thought they were anodised  :LolLolLolLol:

Soaking in Gun wash thinners works aswell, even on powdercoating.

At least you asked before they dissolved completely and there have been a couple of peeps do that before  :LolLolLolLol:

previous knowledge told me to hook them out once they had started to get burnt,thank god i only put one in the bag
