Why oh why did they make that daft arsed long wedge out of soft as cheese alloy... :rant:
I've just stripped the thread in one just tightening it enough so the stem doesn't move

If your wedgie is the same as my GT stem then im guna try and get one of the machinists in college to make me a couple out of steel if possible.

Yeah but the first one I made was steel, and used a hollow stem bolt. I guess it makes sense to use ally cos the steel one was quite heavy.
Either way, it stopped 1" fork steer tubes bending .... a mear months before A-head forks/stems came out :crazy2: :2funny:

Think i'll look out for a profile stem and bin the redneck

Yeah, i dont know why they made them in ally, or at least made them with a bigger bolt. The stem and shaft are the best 1" stem you'll get.
