Been doing heaps of building work on a local bike shop recently and the most exciting thing to show up in the shop was a super rare Yeti, until lastnight that was.......The owner asked if I could watch the shop for 5 mins while he poped out and what had he been working on.??..this little puppy..
the kid that dropped it off had a new flight fitted by the shop, so needless to say I waited around long after I was due to go home to question the kid about this bike. an hour later and several questions revealed that he rides the bike to school every day :uglystupid2: and that his dad gave it to him..."heres my card, ask your dad if he will let you sell it to me, I'll even pay a fair price for it" was the instant response.......hmmmm I very much doubt it but who knows...
-
Nice stem :daumenhoch:
-
why not offer him a good price and see if that temps a sale? or if you only want frame and forks offer a frame and fork swop with cash :daumenhoch:
-
I said to the lad I'd let him have any new bike in the shop for a trade on the PK, I know the owner well so can get them at cost, I think because it was his dads ride he's scared to let it go before asking him. Just hope his dads not on here :2funny:
-
well if his dad is on here then he might understand that the bike might be destroyed on the way to school and that you might take more care of it - not saying the kid will not take care of it but kids might kick it thinking it's a P.O.S. and not new school
keep working at it - it may just pay off >:D
-
Looking at the condition of that bike, i'd of said the lad looked after it and is very aware as to what he has. Also consider he's just upgraded to flight cranks so he seems to know his parts.
If he is unsure as to what he has then now he knows someone is interested he'll just google it or search on ebay. No chance then.
Good luck though mate.

I'd buy the stem if you manage to get it... :daumenhoch:
-
no worries pal, If I got it the first thing I'd do is strip it down and sell all the bits...wish me luck

hello ash, can i dib this for my mate steve if you decide to get rid please
if it is a birmingham wheels frame he is desperate for one
cheers matey :4_17_5:

Steve's after a Pro, i think that's a mini due to the size of the BB.
Could do with a photo to see if there is a gusset by the BB like the one in the link but then Mini's could be different.
Were BW's frames brazed ???? what's the welding like on it ???????
-
Interesting thoughts so far, I had no idea it could be pretty rare.. I will take more pics tomorrow and post up, also I'll get the serial number if that helps. As far as the welds go they look pretty mint and yes it is a mini. :daumenhoch:
-
Ash, you've got to have a decent mini in your collection - build it for Kam, she's not exactly the tallest lass now is she? You could also scare her and tell her it's planning for the future patter of little feet just like I told Aileen that the Mini ProClass is for Izzy when she's older... After she's outgrown the 16" Lil' Ripper of course ;-)
-
your the 1st to tell me to keep it spen :LolLolLolLol: yeah your not wrong, I can imagine Kam blasting around on this :crazy2: might even bring it up to show you on Fri...
-
Are you both up this weekend then bud? PM me later bud, I'll get some beers in the fridge ready ;-)
