iv done one mate
gave any bumps a quick sand down
sprayed it with carpet glue ( careful this goes everywhere )

put the covering on careful to smooth out any air pockets.
trimmed round it leaving 1/2 inch proud all way round.
used a bit os super glue to tuck under
jobs a gooden

If you]re going to cover a seat with leather or suede use a 2 or 3 mm skin foam  ;)

first cut to desired shape of the top seating face and glue it to the plastic with spray upholstery adhesive { available at motor accesory shops )

This will help achieve a perfect unblemised final surface when glueing the leather cover on top ,

also the foam prevents the Kashi drill holes from showing through after a period of time  :daumenhoch:

gonna keep my eyes open for a cheap leather bag/jacket/whatever and try this on a saddle I've got lurking in the shed

do you need clamps to hold it in place while it sets or will that spray adhesive hold it quickly?
