Thought some of you west londoners might be interested to see the latest plans for the concrete skatepark being built at Hayes Hawks BMX compound. This has been dragging on now since 2005(!) but we are nearly there...

Awesome news!!
Yep, it's an option D for me too.
-
Be interested to know why Option D guys?
To be fair the bowl has been pretty much designed by riders, and that's also where we've spent most of the budget, so it may be that the street part will have to be more skater oriented... :-\
Good news is that there's already talk of phase 2 :-X

Yep, bowl is cool and the same in all.
Street section:
Option A:
If you're not into rails then this area is boring.
Option C:
Interesting and could be good with a few tweaks. Not sure people would use a brick built pyramid. Really needs to be a smoother transistioned volcano - I like the level change and with everything smoothed out could serve up a number of nice little transfer lines.
Also this looses the bump bank in favour of a slopped bank - the bump bank looks sweeter!
Option D:
Like the bump bank and the hump bench. Gives a bit of variety.
So, my preference would be C with some tweaks or D if they stay the same.

Cheers guys, the idea was not to just keep rehashing the same old generic obstacles and try to incorporate some different stuff - we'll take onboard all these points and anything else anyone wants to add, last thing we want is another poor excuse for a concrete park this side of London... :-X
-
Fantastic stuff there's not been a skatepark in Hillingdon since Spandrel closed down (now that really is showing my age!!!).
I'm with Dave and Glen, option D looks the most interesting and versatile, C looks good too :daumenhoch:
Maybe a reason to visit my mum in a couple of years time :LolLolLolLol:
-
Looks like Option D won guys :daumenhoch:
Final design/plans are now posted: http://www.hayes-skatepark.co.uk
Let's hope the council pull their finger out so we can get this built by late summer...

not really a fan, looks likea park near here in rainham, meant to be grand but cape out shitty

Three things;
1. Don't get too excited unless you're a skater - most of the stuff in that design is small.
2. Don't let them over polish the surface, it happens all the time and makes the park slippy as fcuk
3. Keep a close eye on the build quality - I'm hearing of big cracks appearing in short spaces of time post build.....
