if its spray paint a cloth with some white spirit, comes off dead easy and its not as messy as paint stripper :daumenhoch:

ive used Nitromors on Skyways with no probs, not on the alloy hubs mind but its ok on the plastic.

i didnt leave it on too long, just till it started to bubble up.

took two or three coats to get thick hammerite off

Yeah was a little worried about using paint stripper, i reckon one of them will come up with spirit the other one they have used quite a thick spray.

i stripped off an alloy hub rear and plastic front pair, they had household gloss on :LolLolLolLol:

used water based nitromors, stipple it on with a paintbrush small sections at a time.

as soon as it pickles take it off with wire wool, then do another section.

i used a flat head screwdriver to get in the awkward nooks and crannies.

keep going til its all off, takes a bit of time but worth it.

Craig, there was a member on here with the username n2cus.  He was into polishing the fook out of everything and repainting old frames, he had a NOS set of alloy hubbed tuffs and instead of bleaching them back to perfect whitiness.......he spray painted them!

yes a NOS set of white alloy tuffs!

anyway i think he's moved onto to something else now  :daumenhoch:

Didn't he try to sell the wheels on here (complete with brake rub) for a hefty price but noboby wanted them so I think he ended up stripping the paint back off the wheels and bleaching them so they would sell.   :-\

i'm not sure i'd use nitromors on  plastic !! just use a non-scuff scouring pad i'll rub right off with some elbow grease and you wont do any damage to the wheel.

Nitromors is perfectly fine on plastic

Learn something new every day! after burning my hands with the stuff whilst stripping car paint and having an old tin explode when i undid it once i have always been very wary of the stuff and the fumes it gives off !.

Good to know though.
