why? did you buy it? I asked a question and he told me several about it
-
daz, i sold it, didnt want much, but got offered that much, had loads of interest in the first 3 hours, but im having problems with ebay and the chap that bought it!
-
Its a bit vague... did you not know what you were selling?
-
is it 4 bikes in one? ???
-
is it 4 bikes in one? ???
Probably, i bought it from the states in good faith, when i got it , i was a little unhappy, so i thought id try the bay, it looks like a ripper, but im not so sure hence just stating that its an old bmx frame, the guy wants his money back, stating that ive been dishonest??
-
Looks like a Ripper to me ?!?
Would it not have been better to get clarification of the bikes ID on a site like this first...?
Under what premise is the guy requesting his money back?
-
HE SAYS IT NEEDS repairing, which he cant do, seat post damaged and a reweld on the chain stay, which could br covered with a linisher in bout 5 mins
-
hes opened an ebay dispute , but i cant see how the ad is dishonest?
-
If you were aware of any problem it was in your best interest to state those in the advert.
Your image is not good and does show the bikes areas that as you state 'need attention'.
You may have felt you were covering your back with the 'needs attention' claim, but you've probably opnede yourself up at he same time.
You've been vague and its bit you on the ass...
Its always best to show and state all issues with any old item you sell.
-
I don't thin k it is dishonest but it is a rubbish ad.
I'm sure you know this already but you need to protect yourself.
Give as much detail as you can can, and then give more. Be honest and then be double honest.
The argument will be over 'needs attention'. What does that mean? Cosmetic, mechanical or something else?
Could you build this bike up now without any effort or are the broken things that need fixing.
If you can't build this up and ride it then 'needs attention' probably wasn't enough.
Just give him his money back, sort it quickly, then re-list with more description.
-
maybe vague, but not dishonest, ?
-
peeps have asked me about it on here, brummie for example, but i wouldnt sell it to him, cause its crap :daumenhoch:
-
How can you state on here it 'crap'... but state on eBay that it 'needs attention'...???
If it really is 'crap' then maybe you should used that word in your eBay advert and the winning bidder might have been a little less eager to purchase.
You might not like it, but in my opinion, you only have yourself and your poor advert to blame.
-
maybe, but i still bought it and imported from the states(off ebay) dordy popped round and i gave him the profile cranks and some forks, we had a giggle bout it, so i thought, well i bought it, so....., i think ill offer a partial refund.
-
How come you didn't fix it yourself? Like you say, it's a 2 minute job for someone in the trade and that is your trade isn't it? :-\
Would have fetched a decent price once sympathetically repaired I reckon...
The guy hasn't won the dispute yet - if you think you're in the right, you could stick to your guns and see what eBay do. (they'll probably bend you over but it's worth a try anyway) >:D
-
still in the trade mate but at a different place now, im operating the laser cutters and the press brakes, they dont do any ally welding, other wise id have kept it:)
-
i like this bit
BIDDERS WITH FEEDBACK OF LESS THAN 10 TRANSACTIONS, ARE WELCOME, HOWEVER, IF SUCCESFUL, WILL NEED TO PAY UP FRONT BEFORE ITEM BEING SENT :)

-
Poor advert with poor photo. Why, what are you hiding?
or
Nice one, this seller hasn't a clue and I've just picked up a Ripper for £110.
-
i suppose the lat :daumenhoch:ter, if i was buying something listed as 'needs attention' i think id enquire what exact attention is required??
-
Its popped back up on the bay...

-

:daumenhoch:
At least it can now be seen in its full non glory... ;)
-
Must have took some nerve listing that ,needs some attention my ARSE >:(

I guess from reading back through the posts it's not a real Ripper and therefore just scrap metal.

Sometimes it's more humane to put things out of their misery. :crazy2:
