Title: 1985 Era-correct freewheel....
Post by: ThisBitterPill on February 26, 2011, 09:01 PM
Looking for a 1985 era-correct freewheel, preferably a 16t as I think I used to run a 44t/16t BITD....

What should I be looking for as they seem fairly hard to date....?

I presume that the chrome ones with the black centre are later as I don't remember seeing them BITD....!

Cheers!

 :)

Suntour or Shimano, there's probably loads more

Does it really matter if a freewheels era correct...  :-\

44/16 was the usual choice of gearing...  :daumenhoch:

Suntour bmx/888 or Shimano 333/dx.

You can buy new shimano dx for £15-20 which are almost the same can't remember what the difference is.

If you can can pick up a suntour they are the ones I like and go for myself.

Nobody really seems to worry about the freewheel being era correct which is odd when everything has to be.

Suntour 888 is the badger!

They are on eBay now and again, I picked one up for £8 not too long ago.
