I had posted this in the tech section but it was possibly the wrong section.
A guy at work gave me this old Diamondback Riptile today and I cant seem to find a lot about it, got a post running on museum also.
The only ones I can see from the late 80's early 90's seemed to have a bent downtube.
Gonna give it a clean and it needs a new crank as its bent and someone has modded the brakes to enable the installation of V type ones (they are quite good actually)
Any info would be helpful, cant tell if its steel or cromo :LolLolLolLol: but its not to heavy
It looks old school but the "Made in Taiwan" made me think otherwise.
Thanks in advance
Jon

Been told its a 1996 mid school over on the museum :-\ but I can't see any like it in the picture section, only a "Venom" that looks like it from that year, probably as common as sh1t and worthless,
Im going to restore it for the missus in a nice girlie pink finish with white tuffs and put Haro Sport stickers on it :LolLolLolLol:

Anyone got any info? 100 views and no comments :(

Diamondback was a long way from 80s glory when these were made im afraid, mid to late 90's sounds about right, and the doing it up for your missus idea is deffo a goer :daumenhoch:

Not as good a find as I originally thought then :( nice little bike though :LolLolLolLol:, gonna give it to Dan for some pink loving then a retro look make over :daumenhoch:
(then it will sit in the shed and never get used)

You can't beat a Curtis :4_17_5:

That bikes a beast(the Curtis) I had a pair of those db forks on my expert rider, they're staying on, they seem pretty light and good :)
