just a quick question, are the coloured tyres available on ebay exactly as they seem - Ceap and Nasty or do they pass as useable, are there any recomendations, i'm not bothered about period specific snake skin Comp III's or the like, just want some useable coloured tyres.
-
for me if you use a whole coloured tire on a 80's build it just don't look right -- whole coloured tires suit 90-00 style rides - but in the end of the day it's up to you
you can get a nice set of gum walls with most colours on top and this will look right on your build
if it's not a show queen - then most tires used will be fine for running around on as you just use them up and the choice is yours
have a look at others rides on here tosee what they use and look like
cheers B ;)

Bendy didn't say they didn't exist, just that they 'didn' look right'... and I believe that opinion to be BANG ON.
Tyres need amber/tan walls :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

I didn't say he did mate ,just showing what they look like and leaving it subject to the opinion of others :daumenhoch:

the blue set on the yellow ride above look good for two reasons
yellow and blue go well like that
and the other is the tread pattern - which is like a snake belly and most of us are used to seeing this on rides
so when both together it works
some of the whole colours on ebay have a different tread more of a late 90's 2000 style - this is where it can look a bit wrong as it crosses over the two stlyes
but at the end of the day it's your ride and you do what you want ;)

I hear what you're saying about the side wall colour,
This is for an unknown flatland (or FREESTYLE as it used to be called ::) ) 90- 00 frame, its all but finished, no - show complete throw together of bits to get me riding some flatland again and having fun.
-
those ebay ones should be ok for a bit of rubber based fun ;)

Sorry about the thread hijack, but the CompeST patterns from Porkchop, how do they compare colour-wise on the skinwalls to the originals?
I've been after a set of 1.75`s but drawn a blank. I want to split a pair up with a pair of 2.125's to make a couple of fat 'n' thin sets, so colour is fairly important ;-(
