OMG i got a set of  front and rear Dia Compe MX 1000s calipers yesterday from Alans Bmx in wigan, jesus christ the quality on these new Dia Compe calipers is SHIT they look like the real crapy copies from bitd even dare i say worse than them. The decals are realy poor look like they have been made by a 5 year old in a sweat shop in China,Dia Compe have gone realy down hill to put their name on cheaply made poor finish crap like this, Not Happy  >:( :yahoo_silent: Dont buy these calipers guys and girls unless they are for a rider.

Here you go Glen,
Totaly agree with you Bob ,But they actualy look better in the pics than they do in the flesh,Just look at the "Dia Compe" sticker it looks like it wasnt made for the caliper because it doesnt fit/sit properly .Sorry about the crap pictures but my camera didnt like my kitchen light.

Wow they look worse than I thought they would, and way different from the originals!  ??? wtf was the point in reissuing them? I've seen better quality Formos copy's.  :P

Did they reissue tech 3's to go with them?

Is it my eyes playing up or do they have 1000A stamped on the back like all the copies did bitd??

If they do then maybe dia compe just got hold of some old rip-off tooling and are now making crap copies of crap copies of their own product ;D

Maybe thats why the mx logo isn't stamped into the arm like it is on the real thing??

The clue is the big white sticker on top of the box.... 'Made in Taiwan'

Its funny you say that mate,i have just found a caliper arm in my shed that is a realy cheap crap copy of a MX 1000 from 2007 stamped A1000A and its identical to the same arm thats on the reproduction Dia Compe MX1000 pile of crap that also has A1000A stamped on the back  :tickedoff: it looks like they have done what you said  :wtf:

Lol, I bet there paying the taiwanese rip off merchants to bump out the same old crap that they have been since the mid 80s!

Half the production run gets sold on ebay for next to nowt, the other half gets a badly fitting dia compe sticker and its the return of a classic design :2funny:

In fact i bet thats why they don't use the proper Q/R mechanism, the dia compe rivet (that they still make) wont fit the hole in the arm cos the really cheap copies just had a pinch bolt thingy like normal callipers! ;D
