I know both these bikes are hardly top of the range bikes but at £10 for the Ruption and the £0 for the Dyno I couldn't really say no!
Ruption is now stripped and the chrome has cleaned up really nicely. Plans are to complete a sympathetic rebuild to the same spec as you would build at the end of the '90's.
Gonna build it up as a track bike and use it weekly. Dirt tyres, rear AD990 brake only, platform pedals, no gyro etc etc.
No pics of the Dyno as yet, they will follow!
What do you reckon? Any comments welcome!! Positive or negative.
As bought!!

Ello Top man
There's 2ways of looking at Ruption.
1. that there bikes weren't the best in the world and not very desirable
2. that they stuck around and made bikes that were accessible to a whole new generation of BMX'ers when not many companies bothered with entry level completes.
Just as our Raleigh Burners weren't the best bikes in the world, they were a way into BMX for many of us back in the day and I'm glad I owned one. Just as many people might not have rode BMX if it wasn'y for their entry level Ruptions.
Anyways it's cleaned up nice and can't wait to see it finished.

Nice one Lenny,
Wise words!
I started my BMX ownership with a Falcon Pro Zeta (an entry level bike!) before owning a curtis, PK, various Haro's, Hoffman and ending with an S&M. Moved onto downhill bikes when I turned 30 and my body hurt from years of BMX! Now ride a Santa Cruz Bullet.
Wish I had kept them all!!
Anyway below is the Dyno Comp in as received condition.........

Also got this as a freebie the other day, anyone know what it is? It is an all alloy frame. (Probably a cheap Halfords Boss or summat but worth asking!)

Hello, it's nice to find another Ruption been restored. I was a 1980 bmxer and my last bike was a Rickman Freestyler. I sold that back in 1988 to buy some Turntables. Now jump forward to 2012 and found my BMX Action bike mags in the loft. Stated dreaming of that Skyway street beat. I looked on ebay and found this Green bmx which said it was in great condition..So I managed to get it for £30. A bargain. Until I got it home. Paint was coming off and everything needed replacing. But it got me back into doing bikes.I didn't know what bike it was. The only clue was the R stamp on the back brop outs. Did some searching on google and ebay and found out it was a ruption..It seems a good frame now i've stripped it back. Bought a load of Ruption parts off ebay. And going to get it powber coated. I'm glad it was a wreck coz I've now got a GT performer to restore and a Skyway TA. Just need to find a Rickman Freestyler and I'm a happy man. I know someone said these ruptions are not the best. But they are a nice looking Frame, apart from the brake thing that sticks up behind the seat post. What's that about. I cut that off straight away. I hope you've finished your ruption. Please post some new pics.

Nice to see this thread redirected!
I finished the Ruption, including changing the post! I rode it a couple of times on track and park and it was awful! The geometry was all wrong for me and it weighed a ton!
Dyno is close to being finished...........
Just collecting parts for my Haro Group 1 SR 2.0 Mid School racebike.
Also riding a Specialised 415 Fatboy for the park.
Gone abit up market for my track bike, now ride at regional level on my 2010 Haro RaceLite custum build!
Cheers for the comments.
