Could think of a more amusing title but i'm in the market for buying a lid, never got on with full face jobs, used to ride with a pro-tek BITD but only in competition when the rules stated you had too, other wise i always had the wind in my hair riding everything from tracks to parks to streets to industrial estates to storm drains !!
Any recomendations on buying a Lid in todays market ? good/bad brands ? do you honestly get what you pay for ?
just looking for people opinions on what works for them.

I am no pro, I wear either a 661 full face or a motocross helmet depending on which ones in the car, but thats because thats all i could afford, with more cash i'd have a THE

I have a Bell Faction open faced they have a great range of colours at a great price :daumenhoch:

I'm no expert on brands, so I can only speak from experience:
Every day use, jumps in the woods, taking my lads to the local skatepark - cheap p1sspot from DB/Raleigh [Kobe?]. Good visibility in traffic, snug & comfy fit, never landed on it but seems strong and fit for purpose.
Track use - 661 helmet, lightweight, well-vented and an excellent snug fit so doesn't move around. A lot lighter and more comfy than the fullface I had 20 years ago. My son and dad both use 661 also.

Experience is where its at :daumenhoch: thats why i asked.

Toby Henderson Enterprises Full face for track use
and trusty 661 mullet for park use
I personally like the look of Troy lees and Giro remedy carbon full faces , but they cost a little bit more , for the pleasure of owning one :smitten:

hell yeah, i dont even know what size my head is - Cue sarky comments

of course you first should measure your head and then have a look at the size charts of the manufacturer the helmet youīve chosen. they vary a bit, so e.g. large-size on the one isnīt large-size on the other manufacturer. once you have determined the size and have found a brand which you like itīs plain easy.
i stick to Fly fullface helmets for years now. they are of reasonable price, are pretty light, look cool and are safe.
on an pisspot i go with the pro-tec classic. since 2008 i think they even offer 4 sizes.
you should rather safe money on gay carbon fork or titan parts than on a helmet.
